  • RIP Jerry Remy

Former Angel and Red Sox second baseman who was also a fan favorite as a Red Sox broadcaster has passed away at age 68 after a long battle with cancer. Fiery player who I always enjoyed watching him play, IIRC he always came up with a big hit against our Sox.

Now coming up to bat for the White Sox is the Mighty Mite, Nelson Fox.

Man, i really liked this guy . years ago, before espn became ultra annoying, i used to listen to the Red Sox broadcast a lot . the RemDawg was full of great stories, and was an outstanding color guy . my daughter who moved to Boston 15 years ago, always called him "remgod" because she loved the guy so much . baseball lost one of its best ambassadors to the game.

RIP Jerry Remy, definitely a fan favorite and also one of the guys in a long line of steady dependable Second Basemen the Red Sox always seem to have on their roster.

PS: I just heard another former Red Sox player passed away. Julio Lugo was only 46.
