Kershaw pulled from his start tonight and placed on the injured list because of back stiffness.

Dodgers depth is ridiculous. Kershaw goes out and they call up a guy throwing 100mph and painting the corners.

May was pretty fun to watch those first few innings. Interesting to see that velocity with a moving two-seamer on the corners approach instead of high 4-seamers.

Flowers and D’Arnaud both on the Covid list today for Atlanta. Yikes.

And now our buddy Matt Davidson to the Covid list after DHing for the Reds yesterday. Is this season going to make it to August?

Yolmer Sanchez did not make the Giants 30 man roster. Has a player ever been out of the majors the year after he wins a Gold Glove? I hope Yolmer makes it back.

Another smattering of new positive tests today. Should we start a how long will the season last contest. I’m torn between really (surprisingly) being drawn to the games this first weekend and cringing at the thought of the toll this is actually going to take on those involved. Even if not everyone is getting sick, and even if most are asymptomatic and recover swiftly, it can’t be good for mental health of the players and coaches and front offices to see these cases continue to happen day by day.

When you look at how the NBA and NHL are doing thing versus how MLB has done them, you would think we are in different universes. MLB's plan is highly unlikely to work.

It says more about the unfortunate state of baseball than about Yolmer, IMHO.

I read that Yolmer is hurt, but I don't think he'd have made their roster even if healthy.
