Tough call on a situation like we all face with Covid constantly on our minds. Don't know what I would do when so much money is on the line but it's his decision.

Now coming up to bat for the White Sox is the Mighty Mite, Nelson Fox.

At least it's reversable if things improve. At the rate vaccinations are picking up many may change their mind come July if not sooner.

Desmond, who is on the wrong side of 35 and has not played well recently, has now given up $23 million in guaranteed money to sit out the 2020 and 2021 seasons. Whatever you think of his decision, he is certainly putting his money where his mouth is.

Ian Desmond had also already earned $76M over his career before last season.

And if he has done even remotely sensible investments, he'll be able to live quite comfortably for the rest of his life.

That $15 million was pro-rated, but it’s still a lot of money for a guy to forfeit. It’s good for the Rockies, though.
