Expanded Playoffs, Round-Robin Format?

Max Scherzer "pitched" an interesting idea for an expanded playoff format in this Washington Post article.

Since he is a member of the executive committee of the MLBPA and on the MLB rules committee, it will be interesting to see whether this gets firmed up and grows into a formal proposal.

I'm a purist (I'm not a fan of the wild card and really, really hate the play-in game), but I find it intriguing. At least until Rob Manfred finds a way to really screw it up.

It might be worth a while separate thread to discuss the pros and cons of the “double hook DH” idea.
