Read something tonight where MLB issued a statement that spring training and the season will start on time. They'll be playing 162 games unless some sort of agreement is reached with the MLBPA to change things. Story said MLB does not want to cause any disruptions given the CBA is up after this year. The players obviously want a full 162 game season in order to get full salaries. Owners would like to dfelay to May 1 in order to get more people vaccinated and possibly have fans in the stands but that is subject to an agreement with the union which probably isn't coming.
If I remember right the story was at MLB Trade Rumors.

Seriously, I don't see how teams will be able to begin spring training on time in Arizona.

Baseball America reports that MLB is planning a two-stage spring training.
The first stage would be for MLB clubs’ anticipated active roster and AAA squads.
The second stage would be for organizations’ AA and A players. This would necessitate a delay in starting AA, A+, and A level minor league seasons.
