  • Chris Archer out for the season.

    He had shoulder surgery yesterday.

What an awful trade that turned out to be. Rays got two solid pieces in Meadows and Glasnow, until they sell them off, and Archer had an ERA over 5 and a WAR under 1 for the Pirates.

Welp, unfortunately it's looking like everyone is out for this season.

I'm not holding my breath for next season. The owners and the players don't seem to like each other and right now, I don't see how they will agree on a new CBA. Many of the issues they are far apart on today are the same issues that will be negotiated for the CBA.

That's a trade that might eventually surpass the Shields/Tatis Jr swap for worst in modern history. Glasnow is primed for Cy Young contention and Meadows is a middle of the order bat.

The Archer trade is MUCH WORSE than the Shields trade. Glasnow and Meadows were both consensus Top 50 prospects at the time of the deal. Some rankings had Meadows and Glasnow in the 20-30 range.
