We could be a playoff team as soon as tomorrow night!

Nothing cheap, ugly or gift-wrapped about this one. We kicked their butts. The better team won.

Not sure if rooting for the Cubs is a sin, but a win by the Cubs more or less clinches second place barring a disaster. The Sox could go 5-7 to finish the season and the Indians would need to go 11-1 to match.

This was my hope for the series. We are now in the gravy portion of the series. If we can pull one more from the remaining two, then we can start thinking about the division.

      EDIT:

confirmed, the Indians are in deep doo doo.

        Is this fun or what?!?!?!

How can we not love this team. Biggest games of the year and they are totally rising to the occasion, Offense is due for a big breakout soon too.

        Dane Dunning!

This is awesome. No letdowns for Giolito tomorrow with Thursday being a question mark. Finish these guys off and start thinking about the 1 seed.

Anderson up to .377 now. Only 9 games without a hit this season. In the last 11 games (starting on 9/3, where the Sox are 10-1), he is 23-48 (.479), In the last four days, he is 12-19 (.632).

Just incredible for a guy that possibly would have moved on had the Sox been able to win the Manny Machado sweepstakes.

Sox are on a 108 win pace. Gracious. Tonight was their primo lineup. McCann has got to be the DH going forward (when he isn't catching) - he's an absolute beast. Dunning - my god.

You know it is a playoff atmosphere because the Twins lost.

We wouldn’t be where we are today without Dylan Covey, Carson Fulmer, Daniel Palka and oh so many bad players who helped us tank. 🍻

I think back to the Adam Eaton trade obtaining Giolito, Dunning, and Lopez ...good job Mr Hahn!

(And one of those guys turned to be Adam Engel, who’s made himself into a pretty good player. Rebuild players: where are they now?)

Bah - very little of what the Sox have came via tanking. It's scary to think of how many they'd win had they gathered the fruits of tanking.
They need to get McCann back here next year; I don't know how, but he provides a DH, C, and lets Grandal play some 1B and give Jose some rest for his legs.

So many good at bats and hard hit balls, today. Dane was composed and dealing.

He got stronger as the game progressed and the outcome became more likely. Early on was hard to find a rhythm because he kept sitting for long periods between pitching as the Sox made Dobnak work and work and work.
