  • How are we making up for the lack of White Sox baseball?

Hi everyone! I thought I’d re-start this thread over here on the new forums.

I’m enjoying the Sox social media accounts posting highlights of previous great plays/games.

At some point I may need to dig out my 2005 World Series DVD set.

Baseball breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall all alone. ― A. I've re-discovered reading, which used to be a passion in my youth.

It's my day off today, and my first thought when I stepped outside to check the weather was, "God, it's such a beautiful day for baseball."

In lieu of baseball, I downloaded a bunch of audiobooks of fantasy novels I last read like 20 years ago, and decided that I'm gonna get out and walk for at least an hour a day going forward.

In between e-learning with my students AND my own kids, I've read two Stephen King novels, cleaned out three separate pet habitats, and ridden my bike about 50 miles (that may not sound like much, but I shattered my left leg at the end of July).
Of course, I've also been watching just an obscene amount of television...thank the Lord for whoever invented streaming!

Binge-watching The Sopranos. Had never seen a minute of it before HBO put it up for free streaming.

It’s pretty good. Might be a hit.

Spending time on eBay looking for White Sox ticket-ticket stubs and now doing yard work.

Having been through a couple of season interrupting strikes, in some ways this is the same. However the general anger I felt during those days is obviously missing now. I do know that I will never again complain if I have tickets for a day in which the weather turns out ugly. A 40 degree rainy day with baseball is better than today's beautiful yet baseball-less day.

I've been watching Giolito and Rodon's twitch streams. Benetti goes on Gio's sometimes. It's very entertaining.

Enjoy! My all time favorite series. Hence why on the "old" site my user name was Rocky "Soprano"
