  • *OFFICIAL* 4/15/23 Extra Helping of Burger and Colas SOX 7 BAL 6 Postgamer

Well that was a fun Saturday afternoon. Win the series tomorrow, guys.

Good games from Jake, Yasmani, Benintendi, Vaughn and even Elvis seems to be waking up a bit. Colas getting the game winner and Sosa a hard double were nice bonuses for the kids. Burger is a professional hitter. I don't know where he plays, but he's just getting it done.

Anytime you can put up a 7-spot it's a solid day of offense.

An excellent ending to the game. I think this Colas kid might be a great find. And Burger hitting very well. Sosa hitting, all good signs.
Lopez made it a bit interesting, but locked it down at the end.

The offense saved us, the pitching has to cut down on the walks, 10 more today. Nice crowd of 32,000 go home happy, maybe this win will lead to bigger and better things.
Agree that Jake needs to be in the lineup but where? When TA comes back Benintendi should bat second, he has no business batting third, being a left hand hitter he will give TA a lot of chances for stealing bases.

Now coming up to bat for the White Sox is the Mighty Mite, Nelson Fox.

I want colas everyday in right. When moncada comes back I don’t know how burger gets in lineup. Off days for Jimenez and moncada isn’t enough. Maybe off days for Jimenez, moncada, Bennie and elvis with moncada moving to 2nd? I don’t know but burger has waited long enough, he has to play now to see if he has it.

We're really going to start the "Moncada back to second" thing again?
Nellie had more doubles than strikeouts every year from 1950 to 1963, and more triples (12) than strikeouts (11) in 1951 (682 plate appearances.)

I think that on a team that is defensively lacking no matter where you place people, people would just like to see some consistent offense. Burger and Moncada in the lineup together give you the best options for that.

It isn't like moving Moncada is moving Mike Schmidt or Brooks Robinson. Burger has proven he at least deserves a chance somewhere.

Creativity is needed to get burger in the lineup

Yeah, make an already defensively-challenged team worse at two positions. That'll do wonders for a struggling pitching staff.

Nothing says Love like skimmer thru the wickets. Weeze got us a conundrum Professor. Pitchers who give out walks and homers like candy on Halloween and Manos de Piedra playing with a grenade when it’s in play.

Nell, I think Benny smooth talked the Skipper to have him in the 3 hole based on all of the fence clankers and clearers he was so proud of when he rolled into town playing for the KC ‘Cue eaters.

Absolutely in the 2 hole with TA back, or anybody that can turn a single or walk into a “running double”.

Was at the game. Great energy throughout. It was also a throwback game? How? Hit, and passed, the three hour mark in the 9th inning.

Was the Ump giving our pitchers a small Zone? I ist in 137, just above the Fungo Circle, there seemed to be some glares from our Pitchers and Grandal directed to the Ump after some of his non-strike calls.

Maybe you have a better way to keep burger in the lineup or you don’t want him in it.

I don't have any way to keep him in the lineup. They still have too many DHs. But Moncada was not a good second baseman. Moving him back there to make room for a very below-average third baseman makes very little sense.
