White Sox cancel SoxFest 2023 due to "several factors" | Sox On 35th

This is infuriating. This is something my kids look forward to, and it’s cancelled again. Totally understand the Covid cancellations, but this is just damage control and nothing more.

Yeah, this is not a good look for the organization, especially with the vague reasons given (or, really, not given) for the cancellation. Whether its true or not, it looks like they are ducking an angry fan base.

To me this also indicates it’s going to be a painful off-season of non spending.

It's a REAL bad look, it really does seem like Jerry is just saying "I don't care anymore."

Do they WANT to lose fans?

He cares, he always did but his way, not the right way.

Yup. I'm guessing their plan is to put Vaughn at 1B, and either put Eloy at DH and expect Colas to step in and contribute as everyday LF, or keep Eloy at LF, and play musical chairs at DH, heavily featuring Leury Garcia.

                    Shouldn't this be their plan?

Colas is good enough defensively to play RF; his arm would be wasted in LF.

If Eloy is to be moved to DH full time, then Pollock (who would be foolish to decline his player option and therefore the Sox are likely stuck with him) could share time in LF with Sheets.

No disagreement from me, I guess I missed the Colas in LF part, I've never heard that even proposed until this previous post.

It sickens me when I think of a outfield of sheets/pollock, Robert and colas .

Completely inexcusable. The Cubs are having their convention this year. They're too cowardly the face the after the fans after the debacle last season.

The front office is as spineless as the players.

Meh. It's far better than the Vaughn, Pollock, Sheets version we saw frequently this year.
