I assume these are the most likely choices, based on who's available now and the team's past hiring history, but help yourself to a tasty churro if you want someone else.

Maybe you should add Willie Harris to your list. He has expressed interest, and fits the "former Sox player" mold.Nellie had more doubles than strikeouts every year from 1950 to 1963, and more triples (12) than strikeouts (11) in 1951 (682 plate appearances.) -

I dunno, maybe Girardi? I really would rather have a new owner to be honest. Hahn's press conference was fairly disheartening.👍 1Comment

I'll go with Bochy. Three rings with the Giants, and I don't remember him being a media suck up. He's 67 which is much younger than LaRussa. Girardi would be decent I think.
I'd like to see the Sox avoid the ex-Sox player with no experience thing this time. Get an honest to goodness MLB manager, and see how that works out.Comment

With the severe lack of leadership we saw this year I want one man and one man only… Drake LaRoche👍 2Comment

You can forget Alomar. He is Cleveland's next Skipper. My Cleveland-dwelling brother told me last month that there are strong rumors in town that Francona will step down this year. He is getting tired of dealing with his various health challenges while managing.Comment

I voted for Cairo, because I like the little bit of fire he lit under this team, but I'm far from wedded to that choice. Interesting that they really tanked when it looked like LaRussa might be coming back.
A factor in this (which might be somewhat politically incorrect and probably won't be mentioned too often) is going to be the ability to speak Spanish. With the number of players we have of Latin American descent, and a number whose English is limited, being able to speak directly without a translator is going to be key.
I'm also reluctant to go too old. While Bochy was very successful in San Francisco, he's been out for a few years and has health issues, making him a somewhat younger version of TLR. Also makes me sour on Madden.
I don't think you necessarily need someone who has been a manager before, but you need someone with coaching experience, preferably in a winning environment.I want my $2
