  • Bunch of quitters

That's what this team is. A bunch of quitters. They lose one game to Cleveland, and they lose any will to even try and win any games for the rest of the season. This is the most pathetic excuse for a team, and this roster needs a major shakeup for next year because it's becoming more obvious that La Russa was only part of the problem. He might not even have been that big of a problem.

Can’t make a silk purse out of a sows ear

i would hope this stretch killed any chance of the interim becoming permanent. No team should ever quit this much.

A lot of old players who aren't very good anymore. Not surprising - we've seen that before, but the FO insists on loading up on them.
More surprising are the young players who stopped improving.

Am I misremembering? I seem to remember a lot of people hereabouts who were quite pleased with the Grandal acquisition at the time.
Nellie had more doubles than strikeouts every year from 1950 to 1963, and more triples (12) than strikeouts (11) in 1951 (682 plate appearances.)

Sox front office effectively told the team it doesn't matter when they decided to give Luis, Tim and Kopech the rest of the year off. Right now losses are more valuable than wins anyway. At least they can help the team in the future (in theory).

Robert, Anderson and Kopech are recovering from injuries or still injured, sending them home should have no bearing on the other players giving up. This is absolutely no excuse for the teams play.

Poster children for IDGAF Syndrome. Nothing says **** You fans like dropping a steamer in the sheets in the month of September. They should be charged with Fan Abuse, even if we are emeshed in a co-dependent relationship. Saddest part is you local guys actually paid money to have to watch thisinducing crap in person.

As always, the support group for White Sox Anonymous meets every Wednesday night at St. Jude’s. Coffee,Churros,Kleenex and whatever you need from the “special cabinet”will be available. I’m looking forward to fellowship and those oh so heart wrenching testimonies. A candle lighting and prayers to the Saints for lost causes and lost souls to follow.

Funnily enough, I got an email from my ticket rep last Friday with an invoice for one of the Twins games next week that they had forgotten to remove from my account after the lockout schedule changes. Imagine trying to squeeze another $100 or so out of your season ticket holders in the midst of this epic September collapse.

Have to wonder, if there is any chance that they have been told to tank, for a better pic . are they really this bad . it looks like they are actually trying to lose.

Well, in the past when people gave me a knowing smile when I told them my username here, I would respond in a very neutral tone "I joined when Jerry Manual was Manager." Well, my username is more relevant than ever before.

Too many primadonnas on the team. I agree with Paul Sullivan's article in today's Trib, "Sox need to change clubhouse culture by dealing at least 1 core player this off season".

Every person, player, etc involved with this organization should be embarrassed by what has gone on this season. Instead, it will be business as usual (most likely) this offseason.

If I was the owner, on Thursday next week I would call a meeting of the entire training and strength staff and the Player Rep and will tell them:

Moving forward starting today, Day One of the off-season, the following rules will apply to all players on the 40 Man Roster and all employees relevant to these policies:
                          1. All players are barred from doing any workouts with weights. The ONLY exception is if a team doctor, with a concurrence from another team doctor, states it is medically necessary and the doctors have to agree on the nature of the workouts and for how long the workouts will take place.
                          2. All players are to take at least one hour of Yoga twice a week with a team-approved Yoga instructor and program.
                          3. All players are to engage in a running workout for at least one hour a day three days a week.
                          4. All player are to engage in swimming workouts at least twice a week. For those players who do not know how to swim, they shall be engage in aqua aerobics.

Any player who does not comply with these rules will have one of the following actions taken:
                          1. Trade to another team
                          2. DFA
                          3. Minor league assignment,
NO EXCEPTIONS WHATSOVER among the guys on the 40 man roster. NO EXCEPTIONS. There are no sacred cows on this team.
Any employee who does not want to go along with this will have his/her employment terminated.

Non-impact injuries like pulled muscles and ligaments are avoidable and we are doing everything possible to avoid them. Proper conditioning greatly reduces those. Impact injuries are not preventable (collision with an Infielder when trying to slide into a base, hit by a 99 MPH pitch, etc.).

For any player that feels they need to go to the Weight Room, we will send his agent Ryan Poles' phone number so he can live out his fantasy of being an NFL Lineman or Linebacker. The players are to understand that Baseball is a skill sport., not a strength sport.

This would be put in writing in all languages spoken on the 40 man roster and all 40 players are to sign an acknowledgment that they read and understand this.

A shake-up is needed for sure but they need to root out who or what the chemistry issues are and try to address them. Randomly sending someone away might not have the desired results.

I'd guess that the coaches know who the problem child/children are.
