Bad news IMHO a huge loss but not devastating.
Good news is we won the series.
Bad news is we went 4-5 on an easy homestand, I was hoping for 6-3 at the worse. Good news is the Guardians are down 2-1 to the Mariners in a rain delay in the 4th, maybe it will be a long delay and go into extra innings and the M's win but will be worn out for tomorrow's game with us.

That's the big part. We have 9 series left before the end of the season (plus the makeup date in Cleveland on 9/15), and we probably need to win almost all of them. We've also done this without Robert, Moncada, and Anderson.

28 games to go and 17 of those are away from home. We now lead MLB in average (.261, tied with the Dodgers, but we are 60 points behind them in slugging percentage and 79 behind them in OPS, probably because we're next to last in the majors in drawing walks).

Hopefully the Mariners don't finish until much later today, because first pitch is at 5:40 CDT tomorrow in Seattle. Day game for Lynn, who has been very good over his career vs. the M's (3-1 in 6 starts, 2.31 ERA, .194 BAA).

It would be nice if they could start by winning the next two series, but i'm expecting 1 win in Seattle and 2 or 3 in Oakland.

West-coast trips are rarely kind to the Sox.
Nellie had more doubles than strikeouts every year from 1950 to 1963, and more triples (12) than strikeouts (11) in 1951 (682 plate appearances.)

          Maybe they'll surprise us.
