  • *OFFICIAL* 7/3/22 Sunday Slaughter Rule Sweep SOX 13 SF 4 Postgamer

Giolito looks to be back on track against a Giants offense our entire pitching staff (besides Velasquez in the 9th) made look anemic.

We scored a lot of runs with timely singles and doubles with runners on base. It doesn’t always work but it’s fun when it does.

WSI's favorite villain, Little Leury, with three hits and three runs scored.

He can keep playing if he keeps producing like that.

Only starter that didn't have a hit was Mighty Moncada.
Sox only 2 out in the loss column, we need to win the Twins series and make a run for the division title. How many times so far this season have have the Sox made it to 1 under .500 only to fall flat on their faces, let's hope this time is different.
Now coming up to bat for the White Sox is the Mighty Mite, Nelson Fox.

The Sox are going into a make or break period starting with the Twins. By the ASG, we'll probably have a good picture if we will are in the race for a Central title or not.

IF Giolito is back- the Sox could be in a position to go on a run with up to 5 starters that can deliver quality starts, combined with the return of Hendriks, and possibly Eloy returning soon.

I can't believe we are only 2-4 games behind the Twins and Guardians in the loss column- but there we are.

They'd be 18.5 games back in the east, 12.5 back in the west.

                      Which means absolutely nothing.

Glad to see Garcia playing better. He is probably over .200 now with the latest spurt in hitting. On to the Twins.

And we played both those teams tough this year in head-2-head settings. Get to the playoffs healthy and see where it goes.

Heck of a fun weekend. SF gifted us early and often this series, but today only 2 of the runs were unearned though I admit it felt like more with the Giants bobbling the baseball all over the field.

Let's bring it home and start stomping the Twinkies...

13 runs is nice, but Giolito looking like his old self was the best news of the day. Along with Lynn the other day, it looks like the rotation is finally doing what we hoped they’d be capable of.

It’s quite a feat to score 13 runs without a HR, but not exactly encouraging. They aren’t going to be able to consistently put up runs unless they start to hit some out of the park. For every 17-hit game, there will be 5 or 10 more like the ones we saw in Baltimore, where you aren’t going to be able to rely on batted ball luck and crappy defense to keep the line moving. It’s great to see some signs of life from the guys at the bottom of the order like Leury and Harrison (certainly better than what we were getting from them earlier in the year), but the Sox need the big run producers to start knocking some balls out.
