According to the article I read, this move reduces our 40-man to 38. This makes room for Eloy and Lynn.

          Bitch is a kind description.

Nellie had more doubles than strikeouts every year from 1950 to 1963, and more triples (12) than strikeouts (11) in 1951 (682 plate appearances.)

He was good when he could get guys to chase out of the zone, especially early in the count. If they weren't going to chase and he got down 2-0 or 3-1, he was in trouble, because he had to come back up into the zone and his stuff wasn't good enough not to get hammered. I think at the end guys laid off his early pitches, figuring they weren't strikes, and just waited for him to make a mistake. He also needs good defense behind him, and we certainly aren't that this year.

Someone desperate enough will pick him up, but his fate seemed to be sealed when Cueto came up and had two strong starts in a row.

Age comes for us all, even for Cy Young winners.

Yeah, I had the same thought. Every athlete reaches their expiration date, it might be that time for Keuchel.

I'm 70, and I certainly wouldn't be able to perform my job at the level I could in my 30's. I had physical work to do, that I wouldn't even try to do now.

Not to compare to baseball, but just saying as you did age comes for everybody.

I'll be 73 in July. I was a cop when I was young. I definitely couldn't do it today.

i remember well how great casey stengle was in his prime yankee manager's roll. i also remember when he just got too old and the game passed him by. why wouldn't the sox 'brain-trust' learn from this?
in my opinion, it's because reinsdork 'felt' he owed TLR something. another perfect example of his 'loyalty' bs hurting the team.

Is it possible Keuchel was impacted by the increased enforcement of pitchers using substances like spider tack, etc.? He was decent through June last year before the wheels came off- 4.25 ERA 1st half, 6.82 ERA 2nd half of last year.

He was great in 2020 and decent for a half season of 2021- I think we're likely to have a similar summary of Grandal's time with the Sox- 2 good seasons followed by a really bad 3rd season, and probably DFAd and eating his 4th year for 2023.
