Some days, you just get beat. This was one of them.

I feel really, really bad for what will be waiting for Pirate pitchers on Tuesday and Wednesday.

10 runners left on base. 0 - 4 with runners in scoring position. Hardly "got beat". We had our chances and fell flat on our asses.

Darvish was very good. Moncada is struggling badly. Might be good to let him rest this week against the Pirates. He would get four off days but only miss two games.

The solace is that we get the Pirates and the Royals next and should win ballgames. The problem is that we're not gonna gain ground by losing even one game in a series against the NL central teams because the Twins are keeping pace.

We've won 7 of our last ten games. We've gained zero games on both Cleveland and Minnesota in that stretch.

Yeah he didn't have any business playing this series, it's clear he's still hurt.

              Moncada had a rough day.

Still don’t think Cease should have come out for the sixth, but Ricky is going to Ricky.

Darvish has to be the front runner with Sonny Gray for the NL Cy Young so it’s not shocking that the offense couldn’t score.

OK, but the Cubs fell flat on their asses a few times, too.

Come on. It was a 2-run homer vs a solo homer. It was edge-of-your-seat baseball for the first time in nearly a decade.

I wanted to see how the team would do against someone other than the Tigers and Royals. 2 out of 3 and a +11 run differential sure as hell makes me feel a lot better today than I felt Thursday.

I tend to watch the game from a scouting perspective. Darvish wasn't making good pitches late, and our hitters did a really piss poor job against him. There were key moments with the game on the line where Darvish pitched poorly and our hitters got themselves out. I didn't think it was a good game, I thought it was an indictment of our hitters.

The Cubs fell flatter, but they don't have a good offense, especially without Bryant. Which is why Cease's numbers are better than the effort he gave.

This was a disappointing, frustrating game. But going into this road series against a perennial playoff team that is in first place in their division, we would have all gladly taken 2-out-of-3 if it had been offered to us on Thursday.

I agree, rest Moncada. Put him on the 10 day IL.

Twins were playing the Royals and the Sox were playing one of the best teams in the NL. I'll take keeping pace with them under those circumstances.

Edit: And Cubs had their top three pitchers lined up for us.

I didn't mind Cease coming out for the 6th. I didn't think he should have pitched to Schwarber after the last AB where Schwarber doubled the opposite way. It meant Cease was going to have to come inside and that's what cost him. One major mistake.

The stupid move was throwing a third straight slider to Schwarber when there was no way he was catching up to the 98 high cheese. It's partly on McCann.

All good things must come to an end, I see another winning streak coming up as we face the Pirates and Royals, at worst we should take both series.
Now coming up to bat for the White Sox is the Mighty Mite, Nelson Fox.

Despite my user name, I'm not a doctor. However, Moncada had COVID-19. Clearly Moncada's not 100%. If his issues are CV related, maybe he should play two sit the third game.

Going into this series I was merely hoping they wouldn’t get swept. Once they won the first two, I wanted a sweep. 0-4 RISP & leaving Cease in too long ended hope of a sweep.
