  • *OFFICIAL* Struck in the Bronx 5.21.22 postgamer

Not going to win many games when you strike out 14 times with 1 measly walk, Sox with the fewest walks in the AL with only 87. They made a nice try at a comeback, bullpen was super after Keuchel returned to form. Let's win at least 1 tomorrow, don't want to come home 3 games under .500.

Now coming up to bat for the White Sox is the Mighty Mite, Nelson Fox.

Five runs would have been sufficient in so many other losses this year, but not against the Yankees, not when our fifth starter is on the bump, not when he gives up a grand slam.

When pushed for a comment by a NY reporter, a testy TLR reluctantly replies that Donaldson made a racist comment to TA.

Other tweets suggest Donaldson, whose history with the Sox goes back to his Minnesota days, derisively called TA “Jackie Robinson.”

TA confirms Donaldson called him “Jackie Robinson” in a disrespectful manner and agreed with TLR’s assessment that it was racist in nature.

Ozzie went OFF on Donaldson in the post-game show. I think Ozzie wants to fight Donaldson!! It will be interesting to see how Stanton, Judge, Hicks etc. handle this in the NY clubhouse.

I wonder in how many other ballparks that grand slam is a home run? Routine flyball at GRF. Not making excuses. Just wondering.

Yankee Stadium is literally the only place that’s a homer.

Absolutely unacceptable in the year 2022. This needs to be addressed by MLB more than anything and immediately. Unreal...

And that was after the popup that fell for a single with one away. Bad luck inning. Gotta overcome it anyway. Keuchel wasn't great but he was better than the 6 runs he surrendered.

Donaldson is trying to say it was a joke, that goes back to his time in Atlanta in 2019, when he and some other players laughed about TA comparing himself to Jackie Robinson. Apparently Donaldson has called TA “Jackie” previously, and at those times TA chose to “laugh it off.”

Well, “laughing it off” is what victims of racist micro aggressions and comments often do just to get through the day.

The fact that Donaldson thinks it’s funny shows us even more about his character.

Before, I thought he was just a prick.

                    Now, it’s clear he’s a racist prick.

Last year there was a beef between Giolito and Donaldson.

Specifically, Donaldson decided to confront Giolito in the parking lot after the game, after Giolito called Donaldson a “pest” to a reporter, as Donaldson was yelling all sorts of things at the Sox from the safety of the dugout.

The fact that Giolito has been an outspoken ally to progressive and social justice causes generally, lends important context to getting a sense of Donaldson’s own worldview.

Starting to wander towards politics (as soon as you mention "progressive causes" you're heading into politics) so rein it in.
Nellie had more doubles than strikeouts every year from 1950 to 1963, and more triples (12) than strikeouts (11) in 1951 (682 plate appearances.)

You say you are like someone from the past and someone refers to you by that name and that upsets you. The only way that upsets you is if it is in a mocking way but if you really believe you are like that individual it shouldn’t bother you. I’m too old to understand the world we live in. Play some good baseball that’s all I want.

In 2019 Tim said that he felt like Jackie Robinson because he was trying to bring a progressive black culture to baseball and to inspire black kids to want to play baseball. If as you suggest Donaldson was mocking him by calling him Jackie (which is the only reason he would call him that) then Tim has every reason to be upset. How someone can be so stupid as to make that remark in 2022 is beyond me. This is way beyond baseball.

I used to watch a lot of games of other teams, and i've seen Donaldson act like a total dick for years . the fact that he's a racist prick, doesn't surprise me in the least . one thing is for sure, it wouldn't take much to clear the benches tomorrow.
