*OFFICIAL* 5/2/22 Cease the Day SOX 3 LAA 0 Postgamer
What a Great Game!! . Masterful performance by Dylan Cease . 11 strikeouts, and no walks . have the Sox turned a corner? . they seem to be playing much better . some timely hitting and another game with no errors . excited to see Gio, Cease, Lynn, & Kopeck when all healthy . and the offense should hopefully really heat up with the weather . anyway, most enjoyable game for me, all year.
Best-pitched game of the season, and against a very good offense. Cease is a legit Cy Young contender if he keeps this up. I think that's the first 7-inning start by a White Sox pitcher this season.
Hendriks finally looked to be himself for the first time all year. Hitting 100 mph on the fastball, with the sharp slider, and everything was pinpoint on target.

No walks given up by Sox pitching sure is nice to see.
Sox shut out the Angels twice this series. If they would have pulled that game out yesterday, we'd all be drinking the Kool Aid again. Pound the Cubs and see what happens next.

First time with two shutouts in one series since 2012 (against the Cleveland Baseball Team).
Splitting with the Angels should be a momentum builder, after the KC series I thought the best we would do is win one game against the Halos but we came so close to taking the series 3-1. I feel pretty good heading to the series with the Cubs, it will be good to get Yoan back soon, we need another lefty bat in the lineup.
Now coming up to bat for the White Sox is the Mighty Mite, Nelson Fox.
The sun is starting to shine on the Southside. That is what I call a good damn ballgame. Now thump on those teddy bears from the Northside of town to run off about 10 in a row and stuff those Twinkies back in the box on the bottom shelf.
-Cease absolutely dominated the Angels lineup. I think only 1 baserunner reached second base against him. 11Ks. Brilliant stuff. As Harwar pointed out, we'll have a pretty formidable 1-4 in the rotation when Lynn returns.
-Graveman and Hendriks shut the door. Hendriks in particular looked like his "AL Reliever of the Year" self. Fastball was clocking at 99/100 and he was finally commanding that slider. Great to see.
-Offense manufactured some runs and gave the pitching an early lead against a really tough lefty in Sandoval. I can see why that guy had a lot of success this year so far. He had a really nasty slider.
-Gained 0.5 game on idle Minnesota. Grinding out wins and keeping their head above water is exactly what this team needs to do through this tough part of the schedule.
It's going to be cold at Wrigley tomorrow but they face another lefty in Smyly. Let's string some wins together.

I wouldn't go as far as to say they've turned the corner but there is definitely more reason for optimism after this series. Offense still needs to get in gear but if we can take the 2 games against a beatable Cubs team we should be feeling much better. Keep gaining ground on those Twins whatever it takes.
