  • *OFFICIAL* 9/20/21 Thanks KC; Cesar Sucks DET 4 SOX 3 Postgamer

Cesar Hernandez and Craig Kimbrel cost the Sox this game. Not a good night for our midseason acquisitions.

This is gonna be a rough end to the season whenever it comes, isn't it?

So OF COURSE I tune in to the KC-Cleveland game and Cleveland’s batter hits a home run.

Why so I do this to myself?

Anyway, I’m really tired of Cesar Hernandez. He’s brought nothing with the bat and his glove isn’t good, either.

Nothing is ever easy with the Sox.
The Division should have been won by now.
Now coming up to bat for the White Sox is the Mighty Mite, Nelson Fox.

          KC beats Cleveland.

          Sox magic number is 2.

The price of lousy/lazy front-office work at the deadline is coming due. 4 of the last 5 losses have been of this 1 run variety with very little hitting.

I am quickly reminded of why I generally stay out of post-game loss threads.

Y'all make it sound like the Sox are on the brink of elimination.

Danny Mendick can do as well at 2B as Hernandez for a lot less money.

Cleveland is doing it's best to avoid having the Sox clinch in their ballpark!

Whatever they figured out mechanically that Kimbrel was doing wrong didn't fix the problem.

As for Hernandez, he wasn't hitting for average in Cleveland, but he was hitting for power. Now he's doing neither.

And despite his hit tonight, Eloy still looks lost at the plate. Average has dropped 80 points in about 5 weeks. Hasn't had a multi-hit game since August 24. Struck out at least once in 12 of the last 13 games.

Sounds like there is something wrong with Rodon. They'll know more after he's examined tomorrow, but TLR says "we're concerned" and he doesn't expect Rodon to make his start next week.

Worry more about Rodon's shoulder. Damn. Sounds like an issue.

In order to improve my mood, I'm going to pretend the Sox won tonight, and that Cleveland and KC split their DH - the net result is the same, in terms of division lead and magic number reduction, and this way I don't have to stew about another turd by the offense/Kimbrell fail.

Playing as they have, the Sox weren't likely to catch Houston for the 2nd seed anyway...

No surprise about Rodon. His fastball in the 3rd was averaged barely over 89mph.
