    Giolito deserved better

Not sure if I have confidence in tomorrow, even with Rodon coming back, so let's look forward to the weekend and hope the Cubs cure what ails us.

Ray’s 2 highest strikeout games this season are the two games he pitched against the Sox.

Sox starters the last three games:

        20 IP, 13 H, 3 ER, 2 BB, 17 K, 1.35 ERA, 0.750 WHIP

        And we went 1-2.

In the last three games, the Sox have fanned 37times.

Looking at some stats of the 4th and 5th guys Bummer faced in the 8th, Valera has an .OPS almost .400 pts higher against lefties and Kirk has an .OPS of almost .900 against lefties.

You can’t pitch much better than the Sox have the past three days, yet they only have a single win to show for it.

This offense is crap it seems on the road against winning teams.

              Bummer…again…five losses, six blown saves.

And someone please explain to me why Ruiz is even on this team?

Please try to score some runs for Rodon Thursday.

Per FanGraphs, in all road games against teams above .500 the Sox have played this season, their OPS is .645. Only Texas has a worse road OPS against those teams, and the Sox have the fourth worst in all of baseball in that category.

With the same criteria, the Sox have a .344 slugging percentage. Again, only Texas has a worse road slugging percentage against those teams, and the Sox have the fifth worst in all of baseball in that category.

                  Bummer is a bummer.

                  The offense is a bummer.

Before the season began, MLB analysts said the Sox have plenty of offense and a solid bullpen. But the starting pitching could be a question. So much for experts.

I knew it was bad, didn't realize it was that horrible. Now 8-17 on the road this year against teams that have a winning record for the season as of tonight. In the last four games...seven total runs.

Chuck Garfien interviewed Dave Wills, voice of the Tampa Bay Rays (and former Sox pre/postgame radio host), on the White Sox Talk podcast that dropped recently.

Garfien asked Wills his thoughts on the Sox strengths and weaknesses. Wills said he had spoken with Rays manager Kevin Cash ahead of the Rays-Sox series. He said the Rays obviously feel good about their own team, but also view the Sox as a dangerous playoff opponent. However, they did identify several weaknesses with the Sox:

                      A defense that occasionally is leaky;

A lineup that is predominately right-handed and somewhat one-dimensional.

Interestingly, Wills said the Sox rotation and bullpen together were extremely concerning to opposing teams; Wills expects the bullpen in particular to lock down a lot of late inning leads.

Not going to win many games with 16 Ks.
Lynn on Monday and Giolito last night should sue the Sox hitters for non-support.
Need to win today to have a 3-4 road trip which is OK against 2 tough teams.

Last 7 games- Eloy- .233, Vaughn .174 (may be wearing down between his first full MLB season and all of the outfield play?), Hernandez- .138, Zavala- .190- just too many holes in this line up right now.

This team is damn near impossible to watch when they come up to the plate.

Romano hung a slider right in the middle of the strike zone to Vaughn in the 9th inning and Vaughn hit a double play ground ball. I can't remember the last time a Sox hitter got more than one base off a mistake pitch.
