Well, these are the Royals. And going up against Roger Clements every night, We are going to lose some games. Notwithstanding the 2005 World Series. This has been going on for years. It's not a recent phenomenon. For whatever reason. At least we lower 7 run ERA pitchers a point lower every time we play them. We'll be fine. The only team that actually scares me is the Dodgers. There is no excuse NONE for this garbage play since the All-Star break against bottom feeding teams and their awful pitchers, none.

And please don't give me this BS (not that you specifically are) 'well these are big league pitchers.'

Big league pitchers don't have ERA in the six's, seven's and eight's.

Last year they admitted after they clinched they lost focus and couldn't get it back for the playoffs.

These guys are acting like they've won the division and they probably have, but guess what if they couldn't get the mojo back letting down for a week it's going to be damn hard to get it back screwing around for two months.

I completely disagree. You're projecting your own insecurities and fears on to the team. The team isn't acting like anything. They are just in a slump and having some bad luck along the way. That's it. Hopefully it clears up soon. If it doesn't and all our AS/MVP caliber players continue to hit like a AAAA squad, yes it's going to be a short brutal end to the post season, but hopefully that doesn't happen. There are signs that the run of bad luck is starting to lift and as the team gets whole hopefully that will continue to be the case.

0-5 w/RISP (0-9 over the last two). Only left 6 on, but Engel's K in the 4th with the bases loaded was painful, especially after getting it to 3-2. 4-for-30 yesterday, 6-for-32 today.

Got a lot of help today in that everyone else we're fighting with (with the exception of the Rays, who were off) lost. Magic number is now 46.

I don't know if the Indians made any other "white flag" moves at the deadline besides giving Hernandez to us but I wonder if they regret it. We have given them every opportunity to climb back in and make this thing uncomfortable and they haven't taken advantage. Thank God.

Couldn't exactly tell from where I was at but it looked like Engel chased a bad pitch on 3-1 with bags loaded. Overall bizarre night for him. Hopefully the Cubs are the medicine we need but hard to feel too confident right now.
