Typical run-of-the-mill win tonight. Another day off the calendar, and another increase in the divisional lead with Cleveland losing.

Division lead is back to 9.5 games, and the magic number is now

"Hope...may be indulged in by those who have abundant resources...but those who stake their all upon the venture see it in its true colors only after they are ruined."

Signs of some hitters starting to wake up too...Love the win. Give Dylan a huge pat on the back for his pitching. 1 hit? Well done sir....

Nice to put the game away for a change. Cease with a quality outing only giving up the one hit. He also recorded 11Ks.
Kopech gave up the lead off triple and sac fly but other wise had a good inning
Crochet with a good outing. Tepera needed that clean outing.

Nice to see Tepera look good. Hopefully this will settle him into his role with us as he did come in during high leverage situations his first 2 appearances. Hope Eloy will get his timing down soon and this could start to get real fun.

Three-hit Tim is nice after some scuffling. Going the other way gets him back on the beam.

It was a fun game to attend.

I was sitting right between the Royals' Dugout and On-deck Circle. When Benintendi was helped off the field, he had a look of extreme agony on his face and the trainer was holding his arm in place as if it would fall off if he let go. Not good.

Happy with Cease, has the stuff to be the best we have. Sixth inning with all wicked breaking stuff, 3 K's. Happy with the win. Happy with five hits? Are you serious? Some of our top of the order dudes have got to wake up. Not you, TA, at least tonight. A slump-proof singles hitter like Nicky may have more value than we thought.
Ah, you can't beat fun at the old ball park.

Offense still isn't there...only five hits. But combined with the walks they did have some timely ones...and they did hit some balls hard.

And another positive...Jimenez didn't get hurt!

Nice solid way to start the series, nine game stretch, before the gauntlet.

                    More please Wednesday...thank you!

I've come to expect Engel catches at the wall so much that I was surprised that he didn't come up with the ball. Standard Engel turns that triple into an out.

We won’t have to worry about Engel not making a catch at the wall tonight. With a RH starter on the mound for KC, I’m sure Leury Garcia will be starting in CF today to ensure his LH bat is in the lineup.

Nice inning by Crochet last night- some promising signs from the LH side (along with Bummer) to complement Hendriks/Kimbrel/Kopech.

You know what would ease some of the sting while we wait to get Eloy and Robert back on board? If we stopped sitting the guy who is actually putting up Eloy and Robert numbers to give everyday run to Leury Garcia…

                              I mean, come on…

Not only do we continue to get our #JustLeuryThings (horse**** bat, key mistakes in the field) ad nauseum, the guy we’re sitting to make it happen has basically been nothing short of an All Star this year.

This is no longer just about some deep-seated personal preference for Leury during the rebuild. This is about being fundamentally incorrect in evaluating the talent on the roster.
