Nice way to win the series. First walkoff home run I've seen at a Sox game I believe.

The bottom of the order has carried this team. What a well pitched game..

        Walkoff homers work for me.
Now coming up to bat for the White Sox is the Mighty Mite, Nelson Fox.

Finally someone un-constipated the offense today. So glad Leury didn’t get another opportunity to fail. I haven’t given up on Goodwin, who has previously been a competent starting major league OF.

          The pitching was spectacular today.

Now that's what i call a Good win . man, Brian Goodwin got all of that ball . he's had a tough week, and it was nice to see that . we needed that game . Adam Engel is one of the bright spots on this team . great defense and speed, and always hustling like you're supposed to.

I’m totally fine with letting Lambert and López have additional opportunities to start games and/or have multiple inning relief appearances. It’s what we need in order to get our starting five through the August “dead arm” period, and to get the rotation aligned for the playoffs.

Great way to end the series and head into the off-day. Tip of the cap (remember that one?) to Lambert and Lopez who both pitched really well.

Gordon Beckham pointed out a very nice truth on the post-gamer.

With Kimbrel and Hendriks, Sox fans are gettign a peek at the future of the 8th and 9th Innings.

What are we seeing is great.

The pitching was great but Anderson, Abreu and Moncada can't keep this ineptness up.
Lambert did his job as the opener but I was really impressed with Lopez today, he's been super since being called up.

I’m not going to say any games are “must win” games with a 9-game lead.

However, the Royals, Cubs, and Twins are all inferior teams. The Sox should win all three series. A 6-3 (or better) stretch would set them up nicely for their toughest remaining fortnight against the Yankees, Athletics, Rays, and Jays.

Absolutely this. Especially give Rodon as many skipped or delayed starts as possible from here on out. Come playoffs, we need first half Carlos, not gassed 2nd half Carlos.

I'm glad anytime the Sox win of course, but it's great to be able to win one of these spot start games.....and it takes another game off the schedule with a 9-game lead. My main concern right now is the lack of offense by our core guys. I hope they get things going soon as much as I love HRs by Goodwin or Zavala. Maybe getting Eloy, Robert, and eventually Grandal back will give this offense the jolt it needs.

I was happy to be wrong about Jimmy Lambert. He did throw a lot of uncompetitive pitches, but he mostly kept Cleveland off the scoreboard. Who is this López guy? Sure doesn't resemble the pitcher with the same name that we had before.

When they showed the Goodwin homer replay from another angle, after the big bat flip, Brian looked right into the Cleveland dugout for just a couple seconds. I enjoyed that.

Was actually wondering if they might go with a 6-man rotation for August or at least every time there's a day off to give the starters a full week between starts. Days off this month are Monday, the 13th and the 30th with another off day 9/6 (no game on Labor Day?) But to make that work they will have to figure out how to manage the roster.

                            Either way... BRIAN GOODWIN!
