  • *OFFICIAL* 6/12/21 Good Pitching, Good Hitting, GoodWin SOX 15 DET 2 Postgamer

Cease could have gone longer but it’s prudent to save his arm given the amount of time he had to spend in the dugout when the Sox were hitting. Burr and Foster each pitched two clean innings which means the high leverage relievers are rested.

I don’t know if Goodwin is the answer, but he was the answer today at least. I questioned batting him second but TLR knows better than me.

The Sox are now 34-6 in games when they hit a home run.

    Let’s get the sweep tomorrow.

A real ass-kicking of the Triple A Tigers.

      Hello Mr. Goodwin!

      Unfortunately Cleveland won in 10.

Go get em' tomorrow guys, tough week starts Monday.

We now have a +103 run differential, which is the best in the majors. Dodgers are second at +100 and play the Rangers tonight. Houston and Tampa each are +78.

Great game obviously. No let down, Just kept pounding it out until the Kittens cried uncle and put in a catcher to pitch. And then the Sox still didn't stop.

11 BB only 7 K. Yeah it was that kind of day. Nice to see Goodwin get off to a great start and then to close it out clean with Burr and Foster is awesome.

Good to have a no brainer, the nerves need a rest every once in awhile.
Now coming up to bat for the White Sox is the Mighty Mite, Nelson Fox.

I took a look at the lineup for tonight, which objectively had to be the weakest lineup of the year, and I knew they were going to put up 10+ runs. That’s just how this season has gone. TDog said it yesterday I think - this team is greater than the sum of its parts.

And the Indians were breathing down their necks until right near the end.

Yes indeed; I won't be comfortable with their Division lead if it grows to 10+ games in a few weeks because of that season.

And the Chicago media was rooting them on all the way. They were really hoping that the long drought was over and that the city would finally have a baseball championship after such a long time.

Too bad Cleveland fell short and dashed their hopes.

We need to beat up on the bad teams as the good teams will take advantage of the fact half the starting lineup is hurt.

I felt bad for the Tigers pitcher who threw up on the mound then got sent back to the minors after the fact.

Yup, we need these laughers occasionally to keep from running to either the liquor or medicine cabinet to persevere thru 162 tilts observing the beloved.

Kudos to the FO for bringing in decent players for the bench. Lamb, Goodwin had decent careers, so with them you give yourself a chance. Goodwin has an OPS in excess of .750 and in contrast to so many others over the years, really hasn't been in decline. That's as good as Melky, who as brought in here a while back as a FA to be one of the top bats.
