Obviously, potentially losing Madrigal for a while is the bigger story, but the way the whole team came undone in that eighth inning was frustrating beyond belief.

6th game this year the Sox took a lead into the 7th inning or later and lost.
Bummer again personally responsible. That's the third one on him this year. The baseball gods are paying him back for shooting off his mouth in the spring. Yea I know about the dropped third strike but that doesn't mitigate the fact that he gave up two singles and a walk right after it and couldn't pitch around it.
But four errors didn't help matters, just a poor performance all the way around except for Lynn.
Now Jose' has joined the "slumping ranks."
Try to get the series win tomorrow guys, or as Joe Maddon famously quipped, "Try not to suck..."
At least Cleveland lost and Kansas City is losing.Last edited by Lipman 1; 06-09-2021, 11:29 PM.

Injuries aside this bullpen has been a HUGE disappointment and has cost the Sox five games late. Bummer, Foster, Heuer, Marshall had been awful and Hahn needs to figure something out. Maybe bring up Fry and make a deal or two now before the price of poker skyrockets come the trade deadline.
Last year I called Heuer / Foster the next "Forster/Gossage" combo...they looked that good to me. To say they have regressed and are a punching bag would be an understatement.

These guys are all failing simultaneously. Heuer looked like the closer of the future last year, no idea what happened to him. Bummer was getting puff pieces written about him by the national media. Brutal."Hope...may be indulged in by those who have abundant resources...but those who stake their all upon the venture see it in its true colors only after they are ruined."

Also, the play in in the 1st where the home plate umpire threw the bat and hit Jose is one of the most bizarre things I've ever seen at a baseball game. That would have been just our luck to knock Jose out for significant time.

I fell asleep during the latter part of the game, and was hoping that i had a nightmare . i liked Madrigal right off and sincerely hope that he will be ok . what in the world is up with all of these hamstring injuries . Steve Stone mentioned that the pitchers were being injured because of the pandemic affected scheduling, and i suppose that the hamstring injuries are a part of that as well.

The starting pitching has covered up a lot of injuries and offensive warts all season. Not to state the obvious, but the Sox need another bat in the lineup.
