  • Loretta's Lounge renamed La Russa's Lounge

If this is true, what an incredibly crappy move by the White Sox. They really couldn't have slapped La Russa's name somewhere else in the ballpark?

EDIT: A family member has confirmed that this is in fact true. A plaque remains there, but the sign wasn't even given to the family. Additionally, Shane Riordan received confirmation from the Sox about it. This is bad all-around.

She still works for the Sox? Wow, how crass, I would be heartbroken if that happened to me.

I honestly don't know how much JR has to do with this particular situation although with this organization you never know for sure.

I mean if they could give Nancy Faust the run around, they can do it to anybody.

It is so hard to be a fan of this organization.

According to the story Lip posted, she passed away (story doesn't say when). The Sox put up a plaque at the ballpark honoring a long-time concessions employee. Seems reasonable.

The funny (or sad, depending on your point of view) thing about this whole things is that there is absolutely no benefit to be gained by renaming the area for LaRussa. It's just a seating area, so it's not like slapping LaRussa's name on it is going to increase revenue in any way, shape, or form. Someone decided to risk a PR black eye for no discernable reason.

I must have misread a line in one of the tweets. Still, Tony has gotten plenty from the Sox. He didn't need this. My gut says this is an attempt to drum up some excitement for LaRussa after his cold reception, but it backfired. Oops

This is what happens when you surround yourself with sycophants. Nobody dares to tell you when you’re about to do something totally stupid and wrong.

Curious what motivated them to change things in the first place.

                              Another thing:

The ONE positive attribute that this cheap miserable prick in the Owner’s Box supposedly offers is loyalty. Helluva way to show it...
