  • *OFFICIAL* 5/24/21 Lancing the Redbird Bats SOX 5 STL 1 Postgamer

A four game losing streak just wasn’t in the cards.

But I thought only Tony didn’t know how to handle pitching decisions?

Nice way to get back on track, and we maintain our lead on the Tribe. Let's keep it going tomorrow.

Nice recovery from that disaster in N.Y.

Lynn is a stud, gave the staff a break tonight.

Vaughn is coming along, he's going to be a good one I think.

Tuesday night is going to be a tough row to hoe, fingers crossed, hope for the best.

Vaughn gets hot he may carry the team until others get going again/ Nice to see Tim drive one down the line also and nice to see the Sox using Kopech more and letting him work. He needs to stay stretched out to pitch this coming Monday, so last appearance maybe tonight but certainly no later than Wednesday unless they aren't planning him going 4-5 on Monday.

Lynn pitched like an ace. Just like we need him to. Go get them tomorrow, Gio...

Higher ground always wins. Didn't she watch the Star Wars prequels?

He's an ace, he's a leader and he has a name straight out of a Harlequin romance novel. Talk about worth the money, Lance is gonna hit the jackpot in 2022. If he takes our guys to the Ultimate Goal, he just might get it here! Don't ask me about our other big splash guys, ugh. You can't buy success, but the bucks don't hurt. As long as it's not our money, of course.
If it's up, put it down. If it's down, put it up.

Nice to see Lynn go 7 strong for the first time since he came back from his IL stint. He was brought in as a guy who was going to eat up innings, and it would really help out the bullpen if he was able to go 7 consistently.

This is the first time the offense has scored 5 runs since the 16-4 blowout a week ago, and only the second time they've scored 5 since that stretch where they put up 9+ for 4 in a row. They really need TA to start to get back on track. Hopefully the big hit to drive in the insurance run in the 7th is the start of a turnaround.

It's scary to think just how good Vaughn is going to be . Mercedes came along at just the right time . wish that we had more guys like Kopech . and the best part for me - NO errors.

At this point, Kopech’s schedule looks a little bit like the relief appearances are taking the place of a starter’s normal side work. If he appears again Wednesday, there may be another chance Friday.

Either that, or La Russa wanted to get the hell out of there using only 2 pitchers, and Kopech gives you the best chance of that.

TA should have made that play on St. Louis’s 1st hit.
