You're referring to Sox fans, right?

Beautifully pitched from both Giolito and Hendriks. I think that was Liam's best outing this season so far. The Twins' big hitters looked completely overmatched against him.

      Let's go to New York.

Stellar performance by Giolito, and a nice 3 out save for Hendriks. Also nice the game was over in under 3 hours.

Yeah, I don’t expect John Q. Meatball to stop vomitously mansplaining his expertise.

Tim Anderson did not have a good series at the plate, but today’s defense was crisp.

And for all the criticism of LaRussa’s lineups, Leury and Lamb have produced lately.

As Lip always quips...A throwback game to the dim and distant past. 2-1 and a gem from our fearless hurlers of the bump.

The Sox haven’t lost two consecutive games in the last month. That’s the sign of a team that does not get defeated mentally.

As Mr. Loaf famously sang several decades ago, "two out of three ain't bad."

26-16 is tied with the Giants for the best record in the majors.

+73 run differential is 14 ahead of the Dodgers.

3 game division lead is largest in the majors.

.619 winning percentage extrapolates to 100 wins.

Extrapolating the digits that sounds like Beloved Palehose have a damn good chance to put up some major W’s.

Great bounce-back win both for the team (amid all the controversy) and for Giolito. Giolito had been scuffling and started out wild, but he really settled down from maybe the second inning onward. Hopefully that's the guy we get going forward.

Hendriks looks a whole lot better when he's in a "traditional" save situation where he comes in with the bases empty. He hasn't had many of those this year.

I've been pretty critical of Leury most of the season, especially against RHP, but credit where credit is due he looked great at the plate today.

This was pretty much what I expected from Giolito and Hendriks today. The best team in baseball sent their ace and star closer to the mound against the worst team in baseball who happen to be crappy perpetual losers. The Sox made a statement and there was never really any doubt even if they only scored 2. That is what good teams do.

Gio spent 20 pitches in the first then used 91 over the next 7. He allowed two baserunners in the first and 3 the rest of the way. Hendriks was insanely sharp, striking out two and yielding a routine flyball to left.

Sox take 2/3 from the twinkies and get a day off before a couple of big series with NY and STL.

Cannot overstate the importance of this win. Giolito deserves all the credit he will get for this one. He came up huge like any "ace" is supposed to do. Huge props to him. A loss here would have made for some ugly, ugly commentary over the next few days. Now hopefully the off day can quiet some of the controversy and we can have ourselves a nice little road trip.

                              Critics of what, exactly?
