It’s revenge for Abreu for the Friday collision.

Wow. Jose Abreu is a 34 year old first baseman, but he came down the line and evaded that tag like a 20 year old center fielder.

WOW what an ending! Crazy day! Sox didn't look like they were going to win at any point and then...

Aggressive base running pays off. I admit I wasn't a fan of the bunt by Eaton. He's a LHH, Let him try to pull something. I also wasn't a fan of sending Moncada. It worked out. Heck of a slide by Abreu gets it done.

We needed that, hated the thought of going on a road trip after losing 3 out of 4 to the Royals.
Now coming up to bat for the White Sox is the Mighty Mite, Nelson Fox.

Go Mariners! Seattle leading 3-0 presently; if there holds the Sox will go up 2.5 over Cleveland.

It's May 16th, why did this feel like a playoff game . this game was so stressful for me, that i'll never survive the postseason . what a great game !!

Jose Abreu will have a statue before this decade is over because of series like this. He suffers what could have been a serious injury to start and ends by racing home on a wild pitch while also evading a close tag.

As for the Sox, great to get a split against a team that struggled mightily coming into this series. Would have been nice to get one more, but I'll take any win to keep us in first place, and the lead will grow if the Indians can't come back against the Mariners this afternoon.

              Off to Minnesota.

This one wasn't a work of art, it won't hang in the Louve but a win is a win. Sox gave one to the Royals earlier this year so it was only right the Royals gave one back.

5-2 on the homestand nice....now a 4-2 road trip would be great considering three games are in New York. But I'll settle for 3-3.

As an aside I'm really beginning to hate these Royals, clowns like Merrifield remind me of the Twins back in the day. Mediocre at best players who always seem to hurt the Sox.

The baseball gods smiled on them this afternoon.

Just part of being a Sox fan. I'm 75 and I don't care what their record is, I want them to win every game and pull hard for them whether they are in first place or in last place 40 games out.
Todays game to me was very important as I stated earlier in the thread.

Yeah at no time did the Sox look like they were going to win. It was a hard game to watch given the opportunities they had and the way they failed to capitalize. I mean generally with 11 hits and 3 walks you'd like to score more than 4 runs and require a WP to get the 4th. Was a fun ending though.

So right on Jose, the man is a true professional and was one of the best signings in the history of the franchise.

Meanwhile the Twins have also lost and are back to being 10.5 games back, tied for last place with the Tigers. Royals 6.5 games back.

I just realized that they weren’t wearing the “1983” uniforms today, as they typically have done on Sunday home games.

And I only realized this when I thought to myself that today’s win was in a certain way...ugly.

Maybe LaRussa is sick of seeing the '83 unis, after all they showed up on his first watch. LOL

For what it's worth, they didn't send Moncada. He blew right through the stop sign from McEwing. I'm not sure if he even looked at him as he rounded third.
