My boss is a Yanks fan, so I need SI to revise the article to predict the Sox winning the AL pennant.(Formerly asindc.)
"I have the ultimate respect for White Sox fans. They were as miserable as the Cubs and Red Sox fans ever were but always had the good decency to keep it to themselves. And when they finally won the World Series, they celebrated without annoying every other fan in the country." Jim Caple, ESPN (January 12, 2011)

That would be an umitigated success for the rebuild and for the organization's offseason philosophy. I am not as optimistic, but they'll start playing real games soon and we can forget the predictions."Hope...may be indulged in by those who have abundant resources...but those who stake their all upon the venture see it in its true colors only after they are ruined."

I also loved the yearly baseball publictions like Street and Smith's that had all the stats from the previous year plus all the predictions for the new season.
And then there was Baseball Digest, what a great little magazine.
