I’m not a fan of this move. While he is an improvement, Eaton is not a guy who was very popular in the locker room. I hope I’m wrong.

He can't be worse than Mazara. I'll take my chances.

That locker room is nearly entirely turned over by now. IIRC, Abreu and Leury are the only ones who played here with Eaton.

He makes a lot of sense. Lefty, on base skills, good D in RF, great in the playoffs in '19. Hopefully with only a few hold overs from the '16 squad means that the clubhouse issues are put to rest. From what I remember, it was mainly just Todd Frasier that didn't get along with him.

Paper sense move, but man, **** him for the way he spazzed over us telling a guy his kid didn't belong in a MLB locker room all day every day. I really liked him before that, and really hated him after. Oh well, new beginnings.

I just remember he raised a stink about clubhouse tipping or something like that and, of course, he was a Drake guy.

I thought we banned anyone named "Adam" from the team.

The Sox technically would have still had team control of Eaton if they never traded him in '16, almost exactly 4 years ago. Weren't going to compete '17-19, so got Giolito, Lopez, Dunning. Now are ready to compete, and brought him back.

I don't think ANYONE liked him. Anderson was also on that team.

That's not true. Adam has been well-liked at every stop. He just popped off about us not wanting to run a daycare and rubbed against those who on Frazier's side of the argument.

Typical Sox move to get yet another aging, declining vet to address that black hole in the lineup. Bad attitude, often injured, wrong side of 30......I suppose it was too much to hope for to have our RF black hole filled by someone good. I'd take Pederson platooning with Engel over this clown.

What is Drake LaRoche up to these days? We could sure use his leadership in the clubhouse - set him up a locker right next to Spanky's!

The Sox would have a way better insight on this than us, but I know for a fact he was popular in AZ despite the unnamed player who called him a jerk after the trade. Nats players and coaches sang his praises during their run. I don't see them bringing back a guy who was actually a bad presence. He's a hyper competitive guy and those types can get read wrong a lot and are more prone to outbursts.

Having said that, still screw him for the Laroche crap.
