You're statement that there was NO WAY the Sox could win a WS with Eloy in left still strikes me as overly dramatic and not supported by history.

I also tend to agree. While Eloy certainly is not good out there, he is still way too young to label him as a DH only type. While guys like Manny Ramirez are the outlier fielders on winning clubs, bad position defenders can be found on winning clubs. The Sox lucked into having Robert play next to him so Eloy won’t take risks. He can be hidden in the White Sox OF. Very few teams have the glove caliber CF of Robert to rely on.

To be honest, I could see them attempting to shift him over to 1b before outright giving up on him defensively.
