If there was ever a time for Beiber to have an off game...

Yoan Moncada is completely sapped of power, yet still hits 2nd.

      Clueless.

Let Madrigal or Engel lead off, push TA down to 2nd, Abreu/Eloy/McCann 3/4/5, Moncada 6, Robert 7, EE 8, Engel or Madrigal 9

It even allows Ricky to keep his dumb "Robert must hit 7th" security blankie.

Come to think of it, why is Engel out there anyway? He gets shielded from RHP all year long, then gets thrown to the runaway AL Cy Young winner in a knee-jerk move the last week of the season? On the heels of Mazara finally showing signs of a faint pulse on this road trip?

        Pure clown college...

I disagree. Mazara would strike out every time up against Bieber. Engel is the better player.

Plus I’d like to see Engel face some tough RHP. If he does OK then he should be the full-time starter in the playoffs.

Engel should have been getting some starts against RHP earlier than this...

Edwin gets a ground ball to tie the game.

Bad AB by McCann. He needed to plate Eloy.

I can’t help but think Vaughn would have produced more than EE.

Engel would be a much better hitter if he could bunt for a hit once in a while.

Bieber done, 5 IP, 98 pitches. Gio battled him to a draw, and might be done too: 95 pitches.

It's hard to expect guys to come through against a guy like Bieber. But getting that pitch count up enough with this being his last start before the playoffs got him out of the game after 5, so that's a win in a sense. We've got a chance.
