Charlotte lost 17-4

Colas 0/4 but took another BB and didn't K His average and OPS have dropped a bit the last few games but since returning to Charlotte his K rate is down and his walk rate is up. It's gotten even better in the last few weeks. He struck out 8 times in the first week after going down and has only had 5 K since. Hopefully learning more patience will pay off. Chase rate down, do damage when it's in the zone, right?

Sosa had another HR

No pitching news though Skoug got to pitch the 9th.

Birmingham lost 6-1 had 2 hits

Thompson 5.0 IP 7 H 4 BB but only 1 ER 3 K did give up 4 unearned runs. ERA is 4.36

Caleb Freeman might be someone to keep an eye on as a future reliever walks are high but he's also struck out 20 in 16 IP and his current ERA is 2.25 he's 25.

Not much offense to report

2020 4th round pick Kade mechels made his 4th appearance for WS since being promoted. He missed all of 2021 and 2022 but pitched in the ACL for 1 appearance started this year at Kanny but got bumped fast. he's 25 so he's definitely old but he hasn't had a chance to do anything and obviously he earned a 4th round pick 3.0 IP 2 H 1 ER 0 BB 2 K 38 P current ERA 2.00 nice K:BB ratio and seems to have solid command. His walk rate is excellent overall.

Kanny split a pair W 3-1 and L 4-2
