Sox today announced that all minor leagues players and staff would be required to show proof of vaccinations AND booster before they are allowed to participate in spring training.

They are the first organization to do this.

Says if anyone refuses to do so and they are a player they won't be allowed to participate, if they ask for a release it will not be granted. Basically they will go on an inactive list until they do get the shot(s).

Well, that should throw a wrench into the negotiation works. I'd be stunned if MLBPA didn't demand that this be subject to negotiation.

Does MLBPA represent minor leaguers who are not on the 40 man roster?

Edit: They did it last year pre-booster and got 100% compliance according to the article I read.

I misread it. I thought they were requiring it of ALL players at spring training. As Emily Litella would say, "never mind."
